BARBARA MARION GALKA (nee MITZOK) November 17, 1931 - January, 1, 2004 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Galka at her residence on January 1, 2004. Barb was born in East Selkirk and lived most of her life there except for the first few years of her marriage and from 1991 to 2001 in Winnipeg. She had resided in Selkirk until her passing. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years Charles; daughters, Linda Cook (Wayne) of Beausejour and Bonnie (Hal) Ratushniak of Vancouver Island; grandchildren, Sheri (Rusty) Skalesky, Tracy (Bob) Poitras and Kevin Ratushniak; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Alice and Amelia Skalesky and Talon, Rachelle, Eliza and Autumn Poitras. She is also survived by her sister Doreen (Bill) Fenske of Winnipeg and brother Doug (Betty) Mitzok of Winnipeg and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Katherine Mitzok; sisters, Eileen WIlcox, Joyce Mitzok; and brother Art Mitzok. At Barbs request cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to the Diabetes Research Foundation, 89 Granton Dr. Richmond Hill, ON L4B 2N5. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
