PETER WIEBE On January 1, 2004 at 3:00 a.m. at Lions Manor, Peter Wiebe of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 95. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Helen; daughters, Rosalyn (Eldon), June (Bill) grandchildren, Heather, Brian, Bruce (Rita), Kerry, Melanie (Greg), Kelly; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Dieter, Tyler and Issabelle; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham K. Wiebe, Susanna (Toews) Wiebe; his siblings, Cornelius, Tina, Julius, Helen, Abraham, Susie and Mary; and by two very close friends, Ernest Reimer and Saul Schaeffer. For most of his adult life Peter was a teacher, always hoping to make a difference in someones life. Nothing pleased him so much as former students dropping in to see him and let him know how much they appreciated what he brought to the history and literature classes, and several said he had inspired them to become teachers. Thank you to those former students who took the time to let him know. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Lions Manor, where he was lovingly cared for by a wonderful staff. Cremation has taken place and by request there will be no service. Flowers gratefully declined but if friends should so desire a memorial donation may be sent to the charity of their choice. Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho from out our bourne of time and place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
