LOUIS CHARLES MATILE Louis passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on December 31, 2003. Louis was born in La Broquerie, MB, August 24, 1921. He proudly served his country during the Second World War, and was injured in battle. While in England, he met his wife. On returning to Winnipeg, Louis joined his father in business. Louis and Mary continued the watchmaking business until retirement. Louis was a founding member of the Reh-Fit. He also enjoyed driving with Mary on long road trips and on family visits to England and Switzerland. Louis and Mary held a special passion for household and gardening projects. Louis particularly enjoyed composting, and enthusiastically nurtured his garden soil in the same way he enriched the lives of those around him. Surviving Louis is his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary, daughter Georgina Gray (Dale), son Gaywood (Shirley), granddaughter Jennifer Gray (Chris), grandson Kevin Gray (Nancy), and sisters, Marie Dietz and Marguerite Tucker (Lorrie). A memorial service will be held at Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy., at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2004. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louiss memory may be made to the Victoria General Hospital or the St. Boniface Research Foundation.
