ZENNON JOSEPH ODUT It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear husband and friend, Zennon Joseph Odut. Zennon was relieved of his disability and illness at the age of 52 years on January 2, 2004. Zennon was born June 2, 1951 in Dauphin, MB. He attended school at Gilbert Plains Collegiate where he completed his education. Zennon then went to work with his dad, "Mikey". In the off-season, he worked in many of the construction trades, and discovered a love for carpentry. Zennon also spent time up north working for the telephone systems. Sadly, Zennon suffered a very serious injury on his snow machine in 1976. At that time, he moved to Winnipeg to start a new independent life while coping with his disability. He had a great supporter in his Uncle Nick. It was a short time later, at 1010 Sinclair, that we met and he became the "love of my life". We married a year later, and were blessed with 26 happy years. Zennon loved to go on fishing trips offered through camps for the disabled. He was able to maintain his dignity by working at Unisys of Canada for 22 years and this enabled us to make several very special trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas. Zennon, a soft and quiet man, was affectionately referred to as "Uncle Z" by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1990; and brother Lawrence in March, 2003. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia Odut (nee Hallmuth) mother, Anne Kozak of Dauphin; Uncle Nick (Stella) Dulewich of Lynn Lake; sister-in-Law, Theresa Odut; nephew Michael (Shari) Odut; niece Terri-Lynn Conley of Flin Flon; and many uncles and aunts from the northern area; brother-in-law Bruce (Joanne) Hallmuth; nieces, Jaclynn (Stephen) Kisil; Kristyne Hallmuth (Corey Brandt) sister-in-law Barbara (Arnold) Munsters; niece Kim (Lorence) Kiera and Cody Steeg; Wendy Munsters and great-nephew Justin; nephew Darren (Virginia) Ashley and Brooke Munsters. I would like to express a sincere thank you to our long-time friend and neighbour, Dale Culbert who has always been there for us, to April Frego at the Kildonan Medical Centre and all the caring doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital for the dignity they bestowed on my husband, Zennon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Rest in peace Zennon. Your suffering is over. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
