DAN (DMYTRO) CHOBOTIUK Born November 27, 1929 in Rembrandt, MB to Peter and Pauline (Sorokowski) Chobotiuk. Partner of Jean Ciemny. Predeceased by his first wife Catherine. Brother of Victor and late wife Mary lou, William and wife Judy and predeceased by brother John. Father of Dan and wife Rose, and Larry and wife Jeannie. Step-father of Michael, Donald and wife Karen and Cindy and late husband Barry. Grandfather of Melissa, Amy and Kayla. Step-grandfather of Jason, Janice, Tina, Tammy and Kevin. Dan was born on a large farm in Rembrandt on November 27, 1929. Dan lived with his family and worked on the family farm, until finishing his schooling, where he began working as a cook at a logging camp. After, he moved to Toronto, ON in 1950 to pursue a career in construction after obtaining his degree in Carpentry in 1954 in Toronto. Dan began working for a construction company in 1954 in Toronto until 1965, where he began his own home construction company in Willow Beach until his retirement in 1992. Dan had achieved his General Carpenter degree in 1973. Dan enjoyed his retirement years living, fishing, hunting and gardening with his partner Jean Ciemny in their home on Cooks Bay, Lake Simcoe until his death on January 2, 2004. Visitation from M.W. Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway S., Keswick, ON (1-888-884-4486) on Tuesday, January 6 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service from the Chapel on Wednesday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
