Date of Passing: Jan 02, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH ROBERTA DEMERIA May 27, 1944 - January 2, 2004 It is with great sadness, after a lengthy illness, we bid farewell to our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth was born and raised in Winnipeg but spent most of her married life in Stonewall and Selkirk areas. Mom loved life and will be remembered for her sense of humour, her wonderful smile and willingness to assist anyone who asked her for help. She worked for homecare for many years and enjoyed the one-on-one situations. Over the years she made many friends but mostly enjoyed spending time with family members and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crafts. Ruth is survived by her loving husband Scottie (Melvin) sons, Robin and wife Nadine, Sean (Cari) grandsons, Devon, Jesse, Tanner, Dusty, Braydan, Morgan and Kyle; one sister Louise (Terrie) stepchildren, Randy (Sandra), Erwin, Blake (Janice), Lionel and Beverly; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to her best friend and sister Terrie for all the love and support you have given over the past years. Special thanks to Pat and Dave Cove for their helpfulness and availability. Thanks to the homecare workers, nursing staff and doctors of Selkirk General Hospital for all their kindness and support to Ruth and her family during their time of need. In accordance with Moms wishes, cremation has already taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In Moms own words, "In lieu of flowers...remember me...plant a tree." Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
