Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT LYLE (BERT) PARSONS Robert Lyle (Bert) Parsons, beloved husband of Jeanie, born in Oaklake, MB July 13, 1917, son of Francis and Annie (Lamond) Parsons, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Victoria Hospital, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jeanie, to whom he was devoted. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Robin Williamson, Calgary, AB, Kenneth (Debra), Surrey, BC, David (Linda), Brandon, MB, Jeffrey (Maxine), Whiterock, BC; grandchildren, Sheri, Thomas James, Maxwell and Phoebe; and his sister Frances Elrick of Kensington, PEI. He will be remembered fondly by members of the extended Parsons family and by friends. After war service in the R.C.A.F., in which he served as a pilot in Canada and England, attaining the rank of Flight Lieutenant, Bert returned to Winnipeg and until his retirement in 1977 was employed as an accountant with the Motor Vehicle Branch of the Manitoba Government. He was a long-time member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge and the Duke of Kent Legion. Berts happiest times were spent at his much loved cottage at Victoria Beach, surrounded by family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Thorvaldsons Care Centre for ensuring Berts last months were happy ones, and Dr. Richard Blouw and the staff of the 5th floor, Victoria Hospital, for their kindness and care. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 9 at 3:00 p.m. in the Meadowood Manor Tower, 10th floor Ur Room, 575 St. Annes Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meadowood Manor, Expansion Project, 577 St. Annes Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2.
