Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY JEAN GRABOWIECKI (nee COOK) June 27, 1926 - January 4, 2004 On January 4, 2004, the gates of Heaven opened and welcomed Mary to a kinder and gentler, more peaceful place. Freeing our wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma from her long and hard battle with cancer. With family present, Mary went peacefully and with serenity, at the age of 77 years. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her most loving and devoted husband Anthony "Andy" of 58 years; her beloved four children, Patricia (Robert) Brisebois of Ste. Anne, James (Louise) Graham, Teresa (Lambert) Hart, Lawrence (Yvonne) Grabowiecki; grandchildren, Nicole (Russell Morden), Paul (Sharlene) Brisebois, Danielle (Danny) Desautels, David Brisebois (fiancee Janet), Todd Crompton, Christopher (Jade) Hullen, Dominic Cook, Adam Grabowiecki; great-grandchildren, Dion, Dayn, Desa, Bryce, Charles, Akasha; stepgreat-grand-children, Ripley and Isaac. Mary will be watching from Heaven above, for the birth of her ninth great-grandchild, in a few weeks. Mary was born in Kirkby, England and came to Canada as a War Bride in the summer of 1946. Throughout Marys life she dedicated her time and love through many activities at Christ the King Parish, including being a long-time member of the Catholic Womens League. She, along with Dad, was one of the founding members of Christ the King Church and Christ the King School. Mary also leaves to mourn her passing, her sisters-in-law, Mary Pardoski, Victoria Johnston of Hamilton, ON. Also nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. If you knew Mary, you are a better person because of it. Mary was predeceased by her only sibling, a brother, Vere in 1942, her father Ab (SOS) in 1974 and her mother Maud in 1986. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff on the 3 East at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion, especially Linda and Sean, and also to Dr. Roy Smith. In keeping with Marys wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Marys life will take place on Saturday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 847 St. Marys Rd., with Fr. Owen Steeves officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so wish, donations may be made in Marys memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or take your family out to dinner and give them a big HUG.
