VERA SMITH (nee GERRARD) On Sunday, January 4, 2004 Vera passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 89 years. Vera was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1975 and her brother Sydney in 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Beverley and Brenda; son Douglas; granddaughter Sandra (Ezio) great-granddaughter Salina and niece Mary. Vera in her younger years worked at Zellers before marrying Albert in 1938. Vera will be remembered for her sense of humour, kindness and generosity. She was blessed with wonderful home care workers in her remaining years. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 8 between 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. also in the chapel.
