ROSEMARY ELIZABETH GELINAS Suddenly, but peacefully, Rosemary Gelinas passed away on Monday, January 5, 2004, two days prior to her 59th birthday. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband Denis and his children, Denielle and Dean and grandson Jaryd; brother Brian Whitten (Margaret) and nephews, Phillip and Peter (Jill), all of Belfast, Ireland, and niece Lisa (Paul) of England; sister-in-law Monique Bergman (Allan) and nieces, Lisa and Carly of Vancouver, BC; aunts, cousins and her dear friend Eleanor. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Isabel Whitten, and by her in-laws, Gerard and Madeleine Gelinas. Born in Belfast, Ireland on January 7, 1945, Rosemary immigrated to Canada in 1969. She was employed for most of her work career as a medical secretary. Central to Rosemarys life were family and friends. She loved children, enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker, and was compassionate, caring and generous to everyone who knew her. We will miss her bubbly personality and Irish accent. Her deep love for all animals was exemplified in her devotion to her treasured dog, Nikki and cat, Terra. Rosemary was an avid collector of movies, stuffed animals and, most recently, miniature glass figurines. She immensely enjoyed traveling back home to Ireland to see her family. Viewing will take place on Sunday, January 11 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A memorial service celebrating Rosemarys life will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:30 p.m. with Fr. Rene Peeters officiating. In lieu of flowers, it would have been Rosemarys wish that donations may be made to DArcys ARC (Animal Rescue Centre), 1793 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0E8. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd 982-7550
