Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIMITRIJ FARKAVEC It is with sadness we announce the passing of our brother Dimitrij on January 4, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Anna Farkavec; and brothers, Yachim and Laurentij. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Vasilij (Deborah), Simeon (Valerie) of Ontario, Ambrosij and Inokentij; his art protege Helena Federsel; nieces, nephews and many friends. Dimitrij was born on October 5, 1942 in Carpathian Mountains, Western Ukraine. He completed his education at the University of Manitoba receiving his Master of Arts in 1983. He was a gifted artist working with watercolors, mixed media, oils, stone carvings and his most famous works in enamel on copper. He had numerous exhibitions and many works are held in private collections in Canada, USA, Europe, Australia and Africa. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 820 Burrows Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dimitrijs memory to a charity of your choice.
