Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRTLE ELEANOR WAKEMAN Myrtle passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on December 26, 2003 in her 87th year surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Harold of River East Personal Care Home in East Kildonan; sons, Robert (Sharon), Ottawa, ON, William (Peggy), Transcona and Fred (Brenda), Lester Beach, MB; sisters, Bernice Uhrich, Transcona and Dorothy Luney (Jock), Grand Forks, ND and brother Addison Stady, Port Credit, ON and their families, including seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also fondly remembered by other Wakeman, Stady and Scott family members and friends. Eleanor was a member of long standing and a former Sunday School teacher at Transcona Memorial United Church, a Past Noble Grand of the Transcona branch of the Rebecca Lodge - Confidence No. 40, one of the first counsellors of the Letitia Theta Rho No. 1, a former member and Ladies Runner-up Champion of the Transcona Golf and Country Club - donated the W.J. Stady Trophy for the Most Improved Junior Golfer, a Ladies Champion of the Transcona Bowls 5-pin league and an active member of the New Democratic Party. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service and reception at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. W., on Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Transcona Memorial United Church, the River East Personal Care Home or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
