Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHEATHER CLARKE-JARVIS Sheffield, Massachusetts January 9, 2004 Heather Clarke-Jarvis, 55, a graduate of the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and a nurse there for several years, died on December 7, 2003, at Tufts-New England Medical Centre in Boston, MA, following a six-week struggle with Behcets Syndrome, a rare auto-immune disorder. Born near Regina, SK, on July 24, 1948, daughter of Wallace B. and Vera Fern Clarke of Victoria, she received her registered nursing degree in 1969 from Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, where she also did post-graduate work in intensive care nursing and where she met her future husband, Phillip J. Jarvis. Mrs. Clarke-Jarvis later practiced nursing in the recovery room and in intensive care at the Health Sciences Centre and also in Israel, where she helped set up a post-cardiac surgical intensive care unit. She was also a school nurse at Shawnigan Lake and Brentwood College Schools in British Columbia and at Salisbury and Berkshire Schools in New England. She most recently did home care nursing. She and Dr. Jarvis, who is assistant head of school at Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 17. She and her husband lived in Sheffield and had a summer home in Victoria. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Clarke-Jarvis is survived by two daughters, Megan Jarvis of Victoria, BC, and Caitlin Jarvis of Boston; three sisters, Barbara Ingamells of Vancouver, Elaine Manz of Houston, TX and Anita Clarke Bancroft of Nanaimo, BC and a brother, Dr. Wayne Clarke of Regina. A Eucharist and celebration of the life of Heather Clarke-Jarvis was held by the Clarke and Jarvis families on December 20 at the Shawnigan Lake School Chapel on Vancouver Island.
