DONALD J. WARDROP Suddenly on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the Grace Hospital, Donald passed away. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 24 years; daughters, Minda and Joanne (Mike) grandchildren, Madison and Cree. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Gladys Wardrop; brother Bob; and his first wife Marjorie. Donald served in the RCAF from 1942 to 1945. He joined the RCMP on March 12, 1946 and was stationed in numerous locations across Canada. In 1976, he became the Assistant Commissioner Commanding Officer D Division in Winnipeg, from which he retired on May 1, 1979. He enjoyed travelling and was an avid golfer. Special thanks to the security staff of Sears Polo Park, Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics, and the Grace Hospital Emergency Department. Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
