IVY WILKS It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ivy Wilks, 90 years, at Oakview Place on Thursday, January 8, 2004, with her beloved son by her side. Ivy was born in Winnipeg and raised in Dugald, MB, one of thirteen children of Irish immigrants, James and Jane McConkey. She moved to Winnipeg and after a few years married Cecil Wilks in 1936. Her passions in life were her family (mainly granddaughters, Shannon and Kelli), knitting, cooking, camping and square dancing. For almost twenty years Ivy and Cecil resided at Sinawik Bay where they made many wonderful friends. Ivy is survived by her only child Cecil of Denver CO, his wife Maurine; granddaughters, Kelli and Shannon Rush (Matthew) and great-grandson Christopher. She was predeceased by Cecil in 1989. Ivy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be terribly missed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Oakview Place, on Three North. Cremation has already taken place and no formal service was held. A private family interment will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakview Place, 2395 Ness Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 1A5. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
