BENJAMIN (BEN) HOFER On Friday, January 9, 2004, Benjamin (Ben) Hofer passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 80 after a lengthy illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Esther of 53 years, his children, Jerry Hofer, Mike (Joy) Hofer, Esther (Jerry Heide), Rick Hofer, Helen Ritchie, Rob (Edith) Hofer, Dalia (Glen) Loewen, and Jonty (Lynn) Hofer. He had 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ben is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Ben was very young at heart and loved to play with his children and grandchildren. He had a strong loyalty to all his family, friends and beliefs. His honesty was an example to all of us, and we will miss his welcoming smile and warm hugs. The family would like to extend their gratitude towards all the homecare workers and hospital staff. Funeral services will be held at the WorldWide Church of God, 50 Barnes St., Winnipeg on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. The service will terminate at the church and cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Oncology Building Fund of Victoria General Hospital Foundation" at 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8.
