TRAVIS JONATHON PRICE
Date of Passing: Jan 08, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTRAVIS JONATHON PRICE It is with a profound sense of sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son and brother, Travis Price, on Thursday January 8, 2004, at the age of 16 years. He leaves behind his loving family, parents Barbara and Gerry, sisters Ainsley and Shandis, brother-in-law Eric, nephew Marc, niece Senna, beloved Gramma Martha Anderson, cousin Matthew, and many aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind a tremendous group of school (St-Johns Ravenscourt) and neighbourhood friends who were part of our family life for many years. Hockey was a big part of Travis life, having played for many years on the SJR school team as well as for community centres (Gateway, River Heights, and Varsity View). He worked out to be in shape for hockey and was a strong, powerful young man who loved sports. Travis was a gentle giant. Nicknames of "Trav", "Heavy-T", "T-Bone" and "Bone" were used with love by all. He was the life of any party or gathering, cheering people up with the power of his personality, twinkle in his eye, and off-the-wall sense of humour. He was "best friend" to so many of his friends and was loved by all. He always had a smile on his face as he lived life to the fullest, packing 80 years into 16. Travis was the best son any mom or dad could have asked for. There wasnt one thing about Travis we would have changed, even if we could. He was a gentle, caring son to his Mom, always watching out to be sure she was o.k. They shared many philosophical conversations about the meaning of life, as Travis was an "old soul". He had a special relationship with his sisters, who as young teenagers, cared for him, initially as a young child and later, as their younger brother. As he grew older, he became their special friend. When Eric joined the family, Travis became his little brother initially and grew into his golfing buddy. He was his Dads "partner", doing "guy" things together at every stage in his life. As early as a toddler, he played in the gym along side of his Dad as he had his regular workouts. In later years, they did carpentry projects, cut the grass at the lake, went on fishing trips, played golf, enjoyed music and shared their lives as buddies. He planned some day to be a businessman like his Dad. The lake was very special for Travis. He loved the lake and his boat, and often had friends down for sleepovers (usually in the screened porch with lanterns lit, playing cards and listening to their favourite music). So many of his friends have fond memories of their times with Travis including breakfasts of French toast in the mornings after sleepovers. The world has lost someone very special in Travis Price. Our hearts are filled with sorrow and nothing will ever be the same for us. We love you, Travis, and will remember you every day for the rest of our lives. God bless you and in time, your family and friends will join you in heaven. A memorial service to celebrate Travis far too brief life will be held on Monday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave. at Waverley St. A reception will follow. All of Travis family, friends, and acquaintances whose lives were touched by him are invited and welcomed. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Travis Price Hockey Scholarship Fund by way of cheque payable to Campbell Marr in trust, in care of Campbell Marr Law Offices, 10 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 1L5.
