SIDNEY WALTER EVERTON January 7, 1922 - January 10, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather on January 10 with his family by his side, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Marjorie; son David (Clarene) daughter Janice (Jack) Askew; grandsons, Jason (Cindy) Everton, Bradley Everton (Natalia Loureiro), granddaughter Lindsay Askew; great-granddaughters, Kaitlin, Keala and Maia Everton. He is also survived by his brother Les; sisters-in-law, Theresa, Elsie, Noreen and Luetta; daughter-in-law Carol Budde; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad served his country during the Second World War from 1943 to 1945 in the Royal Canadian Air Force. During this time he met his devoted wife, and they came back to Canada to raise their family. Dad worked for McGavins Bakery for 27 years until retirement. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of Canada for 10 years. Dad loved to cross country ski and go biking at Birds Hill Park. If he wasnt working in the garden, he was active in the West Kildonan Citizen Watch. He cheered on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a season ticket holder for the past 50 years. Sidney always looked forward to playing Santa Claus at the McGavins Bakery childrens Christmas party every year after his retirement. In accordance to Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined; anyone wishing can make a donation in Dads memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. Rest in Peace, Dad We Love You Forever Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
