MIKE BOITSON August 14, 1913 - January 12, 2004 It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Boitson announces his passing January 12, 2004 at Kildonan Personal Care Centre at the age of 90 years. Born in Komarno, MB to Nickolas Boycun (later changed to Boitson) and Michelena Hawryshok. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Phyllis Colbert (Raymond), Eileen Ledger, Emily Murray (Dave), Margaret Thomas (Edward) and special dear friend Victoria Piotrowski; grandchildren, Cindy Fenske (Gerry), Nick Ledger, Kelly Colbert and Kristin Thomas; great-grandchildren, Steven and Janine Fenske. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe Boitson (Elizabeth), Winnipeg, Orest Boitson (Anne), Winnipeg Beach; his sisters, Anne Pemkowski, Balmertown, ON, Nellie Nosaty (Nick), Meleb, MB, Olga Warcimaga, Winnipeg Beach and Helen Capell (Jack), Winnipeg; his sister-in-law, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Rosie in 1983; his parents, brothers, Bill, John, Steve, Metro, Frank and sister Pauline McColl. Mike farmed and drilled wells in Komarno until 1963 and then moved to Winnipeg. He worked as a mechanic and auto parts delivery man until his retirement at the age of 65. For the past three years Mike resided at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Special thanks go to Kildonan Personal Care Centre staff for the tender loving care shown to Mike and his family. Prayers will be held Friday January 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Pleasant Home, MB with Rev. Fr. Alexander Harkavyi officiating. Interment in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Ledger, Kelly Colbert, Gerry Fenske, Steven Fenske, Peter Nosaty and Donald Boitson. Flowers are gratefully declined, as an expression of sympathy, if friends and family so desire, donations in Mikes memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or CancerCare Manitoba.
