HAZEL EDITH FENGLER (nee MILLS) Passed away unexpectedly after a fall, at 75 years of age on January 9, 2004. Hazel was born in Winnipeg, MB on November 6, 1928. Hazel graduated from high school in 1945 and commenced working at National Trust later that year where she met her future husband, Dick. They were married in Winnipeg on September 14, 1957 and moved to Calgary later that year to begin their married life together. Hazel has been a faithful soldier of the Salvation Army her entire life and a soldier of Glenmore Temple (Calgary Citadel) since her move from Winnipeg. She began attending the Over 60s program in 2001 and enjoyed the fellowship of her church family. After a stroke in 1996, Hazel became a member of the Victorian Order of Nurses program until June of 2003 when she began participating in the Adult Day Program at the Father Lacombe Care Centre. In January of 2003, Hazel moved into McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence, where she was welcomed and appreciated in Aberdeen. Hazel is survived by her son, Robert (Debbie), Saskatoon; daughter; Cheryl Dureski (Gary) grandchildren, Teagan and Shane Dureski; sisters, Margaret Mills, Winnipeg; and Dale Sancan (Dan), Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Dick, on March 21, 2001. The memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Glenmore Temple, 921 68 Avenue S.W., on Wednesday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Major Fred Waters. Interment will take place on Thursday, January 15 at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Hazels memory to Glenmore Temple, The Salvation Army. Hazel is now rejoicing with her Lord and has been reunited with Dick. She is saving a place in Heaven for her family and loved ones. God bless - miss you!
