Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER KOSACK Peacefully on January 12, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre, Alex Kosack, aged 80 years, of Selkirk, beloved husband of Edith. Alex was born in Libau on January 20, 1923, one of 13 children of the late William and Anastasia Kosack. He married Edith (nee Wiess) in June of 1949. Alex retired from the Manitoba Rolling Mills after 33 years of service. Alex had served on the hospital board when the new Selkirk & District General Hospital was built, was on the board of the Kiwanis Metropolitan Courts Nursing Home, and was chairperson of the building committee for the construction of the new Good Shepherd Church. He was also a longtime member of both the Selkirk and Gimli Kiwanis Clubs. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edith; son Les and his friend Linda; grandchild Brock; son Lance and his wife Fran; grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Jason, and Erin; and the love of his life Mike and Ashley; four brothers and two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Selkirk, with Pastor David Saude officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
