Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINA (CHRIS) LINTON 1912 - 2004 Peacefully, on Sunday, January 11, 2004, Chris Linton passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 91 years. Chris was predeceased by her husband Andy and her daughter Beth. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Georgina (George) Firth; granddaughters, Maureen Smit (Jim) and Karen Firth (Allen) her great-grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Kelsey, Madi, many nieces and nephews and family friend Rik Smit. Chris was born in Wainwright, AB on July 7, 1912. When Chris was little, her Dad worked for the railway and they lived in many small towns in northern Saskatchewan. Her family finally settled in Bigger, SK where she grew up. This is where she met and married her husband Andy. Their first daughter, Beth was born in Bigger, SK. Then they moved to Loon Lake, SK where their second daughter, Georgina was born. In 1941, they moved to Winnipeg, where they worked hard and had a good life with all their family and friends. One of her greatest joys was time spent at the family cottage at Balsam Bay, Lake Shore Heights. As time went by, you could always be guaranteed to find Chris in the veranda working on her annual summer puzzle and enjoying the view. Another passion of Chriss was knitting for her family, Cancer Society and the Christmas Cheer Board. She was also a wonderful baker and spoiled her family with her homemade pies and her famous Fudge cake. We would like to thank the ladies from Home Care for their ongoing support. We would also like to thank all the staff at the Victoria General Hospital for the wonderful care they gave to Chris during her stay. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chriss memory to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or the Victoria General Hospital Medicine and Miracles Champaign, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2H4. MOTHER You can only have one mother. Loving kind and true. No other friend in all the world. Will be so true to you. For all her love and kindness. She asked for nothing in return. If all the world deserted us. To our mother we would turn. To those of you, who have a mother. Treasure her with care. For you will never know her value. Until you see that she is not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile. To sit and talk with her a while. To be together in the same old way. Would be our dearest wish today.
