Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN HAWLEY LOWRY September 2, 1930 - January 12, 2004 With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Norm on January 12 after a brief illness. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Gail; son David; daughter Dawn (Terry) grandchildren, Carter and Gillian; brother Donald (Eva) sister Verna De Mill; brother-in-law Ron Dewar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norm was born in Carman, MB and moved to Winnipeg with his family at an early age. After graduating from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, Norm commenced his 38 year career with Canadian National Railway, starting in the Medical Department and working his way into Passenger Sales. Norm married Gail in 1962 and they embarked on their journey together, starting off in Vancouver, moving five years later to Edmonton and returning home to Winnipeg in 1978. In 1986, Norm retired from the position of Sales Manager for Manitoba and Northwest Ontario with Via Rail. Since its inception in 1984, Norm has been an active member with the Winnipeg South Lions Club, as well as a member of Fort Garry Legion where he fostered many friendships. His joy of life, love for his family and friends and his outstanding wit and sense of humour will be remembered and missed by all. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Riverview Health Centre. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with The Reverend E.J. Nimik officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
