Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH KOWALCHUK On January 11, 2004 after a brief illness, Joseph Kowalchuk passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Joe is survived by his daughters, Beverly and Karen (Christopher) sister-in-law Eileen and family; his very special children, Buddy and Holly; many nieces and nephews, and Lucy, a person whose name alone would light up Joes eyes. Joe was predeceased by his wife Pauline in April 1999; parents, Steven and Anne; sister Katie and brother Peter. Joe was born on February 23, 1926 in Winnipeg where he resided his entire life. He was employed at Bristol Aerospace for most of his working life, until retiring in 1991. Joe was an aircraft enthusiast and was thrilled to share his stories with Christopher, who equally shared his love of airplanes. Joe loved the outdoors, working in his yard and garden, growing tomatoes too large to be believed. He also enjoyed hanging out in the garage with Walter, fixing whatever needed to be fixed. Joe had many close friends and neighbours, who cared about him dearly. The Skyes, who became like family to Joe after the death of his wife and Janina Czuma who never gave up on him. Joe was an amazing man, which was evident in how he cared for his wife during her illness. We know our Dad knew who really cared about him, loved him and had his best interests at heart. We take comfort in knowing Dad is back with our Mom. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. At Joes request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Joe will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Pauline at Elmwood Cemetery.
