MARY JANE HAMILTON (HAMMY) Peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Oakview Place, Mary Jane Hamilton passed away at the age of 84 years. Hammy was born in Seattle, Washington July 16, 1919. She later moved to Canada with her family and became a Canadian citizen in 1950. She trained as a nurse at Grace General Hospital, graduating in May, 1941. She worked on the maternity ward for 30 years at the Grace Hospital and moved to Fred Douglas Lodge where she worked for five years. She was predeceased by her mother Edna; father Fred; brother Bill and long time friend Eleanor Rusk. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lucia and nieces and nephews in the U.S.A. Hammy was a long time member of The Young United Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr. Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Thanks to Dr. J. Boyd, Dr. Griggs and a special thanks to the first floor staff at Oakview Place for their loving care during Hammys last days.
