STEVE SHERBY September 3, 1924 - January 12, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Sherby at Concordia Hospital on January 12, 2004, at the age of 79. Steve was predeceased by parents, Harry and Dora; brothers, Ben, Bill, Fred, Dan and Mike; sisters, Mary and Ann. Steve is survived by his loving wife Florence of 53 years; daughter Karen Mann (Bob) son Randy (Louise) grandchildren, Tanis Palko (Mike), Chantelle LeClerc (Darcy), Kevin, Leslie and Pamela Sherby; and a new great-grandson Dillon (LeClerc) sister Lil Brydges and many nieces and nephews. He was employed by Co-Op Implements for 39 years, rising to a parts supervisor. He enjoyed watching wrestling and golf and loved to spend time in the garden and do his many puzzles. He loved to camp, travel and spend time at their cottage at Hillside Beach. Steve was a gentle, and kind husband and father, and he will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the following people, Ed and Sylvia Goska for all their help given during his illness, it was greatly appreciated, to Father Bozyk for the early morning mass given the following morning, on such short notice, to Dr. Komenda and the staff on 3E of the Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. A heart of gold stopped beating, hard working hands went to rest, God took you home to prove to us, He only takes the best. Heartaches in this world are many, but losing you was worse than any. It will be lonely here without you, we will miss you more each day, for life will not be the same for us, since youve been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, the way you walked and smiled, all the things you did for us, will be with us all the while. You always did your best, your heart was true and tender, you lived your life for those you loved, and those you loved will remember. Funeral service will take place on Friday, January 16, at 2:30 p.m., with viewing one-half hour prior, in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Steves memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9, or a charity of ones choice.
