INA KOS Ina Kos lived with a full heart nurtured by the inner strength she felt in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Independent for the last dozen years, she had a positive determination to live fully and well, by the grace of God. She died suddenly in hospital on the morning of the 12th of January, 2004 when her heart stopped due to respiratory complications. She was born in the Netherlands, and was a sports enthusiast while growing up, kayaking in the canals of Amsterdam. As a young woman she worked as a secretarial typist. The war brought tragedy as she lost most of her family, including her two cousins who were close as brothers to her. But life began to flower again with her loving marriage to her husband, and their subsequent migration to Canada with two boys. Her deep feeling for family was a guiding light. The warm fellowship of her church community was also paramount and very dear to her heart. Her close friends were a particular blessing which she never took for granted. Always concerned for those less hale and hearty than herself, she was generous with her good nature and caring spirit. Her fat fuzzy cat, Mendy, very much a one-person feline, was a joy and comfort to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Piet, in 1991, and is survived by her two sons; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her sudden death was a shock to friends and family. With fond memories, she will be missed. A funeral service, followed by interment and a reception, will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 10:30 a.m. in Elmwood Community Reformed Church, 1040 Beach Ave. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
