ELSIE IVERSON 1906 - 2004 Elsie passed away peacefully in her sleep January 11, 2004 at Menno Hospital, Abbotsford, BC. She was 97 years. She was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1986; her daughter Darlene Blackmore (Doug) of Kelowna, BC in 1978; twin boys, George Allan in 1931, Lawrence (Sonny) in 1949. She leaves to mourn, her son Raymond (Rae) of Winnipeg; her daughters, Dorothy of Woodridge, MB, Shirley (Barney) of Winnipeg, Gail (Jerry) of Abbotsford. She had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Elsie was born in Burnley, Lancashire, England in 1906. She came to Winnipeg in 1922 where she married Russell in 1926. They lived in Sturgeon Creek, Winnipeg, where they raised their family, then moved to British Columbia in 1971. While in Winnipeg, they cared for many foster children. Elsie was fond of dogs, birds, and dancing. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Menno Hospital at 32945 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford with Chaplain Beverley Bradford officiating.
