DOUGLAS CLARENCE ANDERSON Peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2004 in Arborg, MB, Douglas Anderson passed away at the age of 76 years. Doug was born in Arborg on February 28, 1927. He attended school in Arborg. Following his education one of his first jobs was at Sigurdson Thorvaldson Co. Ltd. in Arborg. He met Marjorie Leaney, who was originally from Kent, England. They were married May 3, 1952. A few years later they moved to Osoyoos, BC. After the passing of his wife Marjorie, he moved back to Arborg with his young family. Doug worked in various stores in Manitoba after that. Dad was a quiet, kind man. He loved to tease anyone and everyone. In his younger years he always walked along whistling away with his hands in his pockets. After Dad retired he enjoyed getting together, reminiscing with his buddies at the Arborg R.C.L. Doug was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1966; son Dennis in 1991; his father Halldor (Dori) in 1955; his mother Thordis (Disa) in 1982; sisters, Sia in 1964, Dorothy in 1984 and Molly in 1996; brothers, Elmer in 1995, Jimmy in 1995, and John in 2003. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Brenda (Raymond) Roche of Arborg and sons Kris (Shirlee) of Winnipeg, Danny (Laurel) of Stonewall; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer), Roxanne (Brian) Erik, Rachelle, Dylan, Harley, Blayne; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Josh, Jayden and Owen. He is also survived by sister Grace Tuff of Delta, BC. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, at 2:30 p.m. in the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. Pastor Trudy Sluth will officiate with interment to follow in the family plot in the Arborg East Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Roche, Dylan Anderson, Erik Anderson, Brian Poole, Dwight Erlendson, and Bill Still. The family wish to express sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of the Arborg Personal Care Home for their care and kindness during Dougs stay and illness.
