Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIMON (CY) BROWNSTONE Peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, Simon (Cy) passed away at the Sharon Home at the age of 83. Simon was predeceased by his father Cantor Benjamin Brownstone; and his mother Greena; his sister Lilly Tabachnick (Louis) and his brother Saul. He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Bernice (Sirulnikoff). He will be missed by his only daughter Linda and son-in-law Allan Finkleman; his beloved grandchildren, Amy Braunstein (Danny), Benjie (Melanie) and Gary. He is also survived by his first great-grandchild Ella Bea Braunstein. Simon was born in Bessarabia, Russia, and came to Canada at a very young age. He had a successful career in advertising with radio station CKY. Music was Simons passion, and he was blessed with a beautiful voice. He especially loved performing Jewish melodies and the music of Al Jolson. This musical legacy remained with him during his lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Cheung and the staff at the Sharon Home for their devotion, care and compassion. Funeral services took place at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, Friday, December 26 with Bill Weissmann officiating. Pallbearers were Allan Finkleman, Benjie Finkleman, Sam Guralnick, Gary Hyman, David Goldenberg, Adam Lazareck and honorary pallbearer Chuck Narvey. \r
