HAROLD NEDOHIN 1924-2004 It is with great sadness that the family of Harold Nedohin announce his passing on January 15, 2004 at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home. Left to cherish his memory are his son Lyle and wife Lisa and his grandchildren, Kia and Aaron; his special friend and companion Gwen Grierson and her family; sisters, Pearl Kantimere, Olga Boyda, Ruth (Jim) Whall; brothers, Henry (Pearl), Murray (Elaine) Nedohin; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Brodoway and Teenie Fostey. Harold was predeceased by his wife Olga; parents, William and Sophie; brothers, Harry, Peter and Matt; and sisters, Mary, Alice and Helen. Harold was born in Overstoneville and, at 17, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps, where he served overseas until the end of the war. He then was employed as a seed buyer and analyst for McCabe Grain, Federal Grain, and Brett Young Seed. He operated several canteens until illness forced his retirement to his cabin on the Bird River. There he made many friends and greatly enjoyed his garden, grooming his own driving range and the country life until further illness made it necessary for him to move to Bonnyvista Lodge in Lac du Bonnet. There he was an active member of the Pioneer Club and Lac du Bonnet Legion 164 until, once again, illness befell him and he was moved to the Whitemouth Care Facility. The family and Gwen would like to thank the staff at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassionate care. In accordance with Harolds wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raymond Nedohin officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations in his name may be made to the Whitemouth Personal Care Home, PO Box 160, Whitemouth, MB R0E 2G0.
