MARY (MINA) ZADOR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 15, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Peacefully, with her family beside her, she left us to join her beloved Peter. May was born on November 30, 1915 in the north end of Winnipeg, where she spent most of her life. This is where she met her husband Peter. They married in 1931 and enjoyed each other for the next 55 years. Mary is the last member of her family and was predeceased by parents Steve and Dora Konyk and four brothers Steve, Bill, Mike and Peter. In the early fifties and for the next 15 years, Mary went to work for Ogilvie Mills. During this time she formed some lasting friendships with many of her coworkers, which she kept in touch with to this day. Mom took great pleasure in her family. In earlier years she crocheted heirlooms for her granddaughters, knit caps, scarves and slippers for everyone. In later years she enjoyed playing cards and games with her great-grandchildren and she kept track of all their activities. She was affectionately known as Baba to everyone. Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter Phyllis and son-in-law Norman Podolski; three granddaughters Tracey Sparham, husband Craig and great-grandchildren Christopher, Colleen and Scott; Lorri Mazur, husband Nicholas and great-grandsons Benjamin and Cameron; Kim Blair, husband Pete and great-granddaughters Taylor and Kennedi. In later years, Mom moved into her apartment in East Kildonan where she lived for the past 17 years. She loved to play cards, and participated in most of the social activities that went on in her Recreation Group. At this time we would like to thank her closest friend, Yvonne, for the many years she kept Mom company in their travels to Arizona, Las Vegas and their shopping trips. Another thank you to her neighbours, Nettie, Helen, Anne K., Pearl and Anne Z. A special thank you to Ida, who was her care person for six years and to the many others who helped her in the last year. The family wishes to thank Dr. Nene Rush, her associates and the staff on 6 south at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and understanding. In accordance with Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so desire, a donation may be made in Marys memory to a charity of your choice. Mom lived for her family and she will continue to live in a special place in our hearts. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044 \r
