ALEX OZIRNEY It is with profound sadness mixed with joy that we announce the homegoing of our beloved father, Alex Ozirney, on Friday, January 16, 2004 at Donwood Manor, Winnipeg, two months short of his 93rd birthday. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary in 2001 and is survived by his four children, Natalie (Al), Elsie, Henry (Linda), and Marie (Fred) nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dad was born in Doroshivtsi, Ukraine on March 17, 1911, and immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of three. Dad and Mom were married in 1934 and began farming in the Stenen, SK district. They later moved to the town of Stenen and for many years, he operated Alexs Welding. He repaired and manufactured many types of farm machinery. After retirement they moved to Stony Mountain, MB where he continued welding as a hobby. His specially designed garden hoes have aided many a gardener. Dad accepted Christ as his Saviour in 1953 and subsequently was freed from the bondage of alcohol. As a father and grandfather, he showed us a constant love and acceptance. Since Moms death in 2001, it was his constant desire to join her and we rejoice in his homegoing. "God is with them and theyre with Him, shouting praises to their King." Numbers 23:21 Special thanks to the great staff of Donwood Manor, you are appreciated! Also thanks to Ron and Lorraine Surcon who have shown us their love and support. Funeral services will be held at New Life Church, Stonewall, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, Dr. Alf Bell and Pastor Glenn Miller officiating. Viewing will be Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Church, Stonewall, Building Fund.
