CARRIE ANN HUMMEL (nee KAUS) June 14, 1947 - January 17, 2004 On January 17, 2004, at Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, with her loving family, friends and angels by her side, Carrie Ann Hummel aged 56 years of Faulkner, MB, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Carrie Ann was born on June 14, 1947 in Winnipeg, MB. She grew up in the Faulkner area along with her older brother Bengt. She attended both Wooddale and Moosehorn schools. She enjoyed life on a farm and in turn wanted to raise her own children in a similar environment. After working at different jobs in Winnipeg, her career search took her to Calgary. She met Al in Calgary and they were married in 1971. Carrie gave birth to her first child Judy in 1975. After her second child Darcy came in 1976, she and Al moved back to Faulkner to farm and raise a family. Then along came Colin in 1979 and Sheldon in 1983. Their family was now complete and remained Carries pride and joy always. Though Carrie enjoyed being a 4-H leader, homecare worker and community club worker, she dedicated her life to being a loving mother, wife and daughter. She loved baking, gardening, sewing, and looked forward to retiring and quilting. She also enjoyed owning and operating Country Cones where she was able to work with and nurture her own children during the summer. Carrie Ann leaves to mourn her mother Brita Kaus; her loving husband Al; daughter Judy (Patrick) sons, Darcy, Colin and Sheldon; brother Bengt (Carol) nephews, Andrew (Nina) and Richard. She will be fondly remembered and missed by many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Arthur on November 6, 2001. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Faulkner Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evelyn Stocki, Franzis Feschuk, Anne Wiebe, Darlene Kaus, Ellen Sydorchuk, and Delores Hillman. Friends and relatives may pay their respects from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern, MB. Flowers gratefully accepted.
