Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROMAN IWANSKI In celebration of our fathers life, Roman Iwanski passed away peacefully in his 91st year of life on January 17, 2004. Born in Kielce, Poland, on June 1, 1912, Roman was the youngest of seven children. He joined the Polish Armed Forces on September 1, 1939, and fought with the 2nd Division Artillery. While in Germany he met the love of his life, Anna. They married in 1945 and came to Canada in 1950. Anna predeceased Roman in May of 1990. Roman was a dedicated employee of Ancast Industries for 25 years as a molder and retired in 1976. He was a lifetime member of the Winnipeg Polish Canadian Legion Branch 246 where he and his wife Anna spent many happy hours going to social events and enjoying the camaraderie of their friends. Roman will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Wanda and husband Douglas Tripunovic, grandson Dushan; and his son John Bogdan Iwanski and his wife Susan; and his large extended family in Poland where he visited many times after immigrating to Canada. On behalf of Roman, the family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, 4th floor, Unit 10, for their patient care and attention during his stay. Thank you also to homecare (Ida, Diane, Anna, Lillian and Pat) for their kindness and support. Thank you to doctors Gorski and Panaskewich for their care. Special thanks to Dept. of Veteran Affairs for supporting veterans and assisting them with their quality of life in their later years. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Wednesday, January 21 at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., on Thursday, January 22 at 10:30 a.m. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made in Romans memory to a charity of your choice. We will always treasure the memories we have of you. We will miss you Dziadziu. God saw you getting tired. You had lived with lots to see. He put his arms around you And said "Come home to Me." Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
