EVELYN JOAN HAYES (nee WINTER) Peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 18, 2004 at Poseidon Centre, Joan Hayes passed away at the age of 72. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Barbara Dunmall; her grandsons, Adrian and Travis Dunmall; close friends and cousins by marriage Bob (Uni) Hayes and Gord (Ev) Holman; wonderful neighbours and friends Ilene Deslaurier and Bob (Verla) Cleland, Ruth Ilczuk, and her cousins, Bob (Marilyn) Moser and Bill (Gail) Cowey. Joan was predeceased by her husband Bill (2003; parents, George (1961) and Gwendolyn (1953) (nee Acott). Joan was born December 5, 1931 in Winnipeg. She was raised in West Kildonan and married Bill Hayes on August 18, 1956. She had worked at Osler, Hammond & Nanton Insurance and later at Sovereign Life. She volunteered on the Chancel Guild at St. Georges Anglican Church. She and Bill lived on Waverley St. in River Heights for 34 years. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Poseidon Centre for their care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway (at Sherbrook) with Rev. Canon Tony Harwood-Jones officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
