ROSALIE PALLANIK (SCHLEHHUBER)
Date of Passing: Jan 18, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSALIE PALLANIK (nee SCHLEHHUBER) Peacefully, at the age of 86, on Sunday, January 18, 2004 in her home. Rosalie was born in 1917, the youngest of a large family all of whom predeceased her. Her husband, Joe died in January 1983. Rosalie arrived in Canada in 1936 with her sister Cacilia landing in New York. A long train ride later they arrived in Flin Flon. What a change from the rolling hills of Bavaria to a land of rocks, trees and lakes. She lived there till her husband sold his business (Joes Taxi) and retired in 1976, when they moved to Winnipeg to be near their children. They settled into the Marina del Ray in Fort Garry. Mother passed her remaining years giving the overwhelming abundance of time to her family and friends, watching hockey, knitting, needle point and cooking. Many of her works will be around for a long time to remind us of her. She will be sadly missed by her son Bob (Eveline) daughter Judy (Phillip) Adam; and grandchildren, Kyle, Lisa, Dominic, and Nicola. Also special nieces Inge and Lottie (Cacilias children) and an extended family both in Canada and Germany. A special thanks to neighbours and friends, Evelyn Foster, Madeline Deleeuw and Bill Witts. We will miss Mum/Grandma/Mammy/Auntie Rose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6, Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or a charity of ones choice. A memorial service will take place on Friday, January 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. GARRY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, CEMETERY & CREMATION CENTRE 1291 McGillivray Blvd - 925-1120
