RAYMOND YANIUK April 8, 1925 - January 21, 2004 Peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the age of 78 years, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, Raymond Yaniuk passed away at Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Raymond is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marieanne; his children, Ron (Michele), Shirley, Doug (Kim), Sharon (Brian), Sherrilee (Roger) and John; grandchildren, Jennifer, Natasha, Aurel, Kassandra, Bradley, Daniel, Brittany, Dustin, Timothy, Alexa, Nicholas and Matthew; brother-in-law Anthony Faseruk (Pat) and family. He was predeceased by his mother Anastesia; father John and brother Walter. Raymond was born on April 8, 1925 in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. In 1935 his family settled in a farming community in Petersfield, MB. On November 12, 1960 he married Marieanne Faseruk-Slipec. They settled on a small farm northeast of Teulon, MB to raise their family. Over the years Raymond was an avid grain, hog and poultry farmer. He also enjoyed woodworking and was very talented in this field. He tinkered in just about everything from small childrens toys to home renovations. Dad was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and took great pride with the familys involvement in the Ukrainian dance club, traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners, Easter services and Pysanky decorating. As the years went by and the children grew up and moved away, those family get-togethers became very important to Dad and he looked forward to seeing his grandchildren more than anything. Dad was not only a father to his family but a father to the many who knew him as their foster Dad. Due to health concerns, a decision was made to leave behind the family farm in Teulon and move to Dauphin. Dad, you will be forever remembered for the admirable person you were and will always hold a place in our hearts as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Many thanks to Dr. Kish, Dr. Hrebarchuk, ICU nurses at Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Dauphin Home Support staff, Dauphin Handi-Van Association Ltd. and friends and neighbors for their love and support at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dauphin & District Handi-Van Association Ltd., 55 - 1st Ave. S.E. Dauphin, MB R7N 2A2 or a charity of your choice. Prayers will be held Monday, January 26 at 6:00 p.m. and funeral services Tuesday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel on Hwy. 7 in Teulon, MB with Father Peter Chorney officiating. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
