MAUREEN DAVIS (MCEVOY) "The truest end of life is to know the life that never ends." Maureen Davis passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Grace Hospital. She is survived by her husband George; sons George (Glenna) Dan, Kevin (Shannon), Joe (Gaby), and Devin (Janice) grandchildren, Katie (Dan), Emma, Caleigh, Brendan, Robert, Maria, Joshua, Erika, Maureen, and Hannah; sisters in-law, Mary and Leona; brother in-law Nat (Heather) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, father, and her brother Patrick. Maureen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother dedicating her life to her family. Her greatest fulfilment was having her family around her at home. Maureen was very proud of her Irish background and enjoyed her travels to Ireland. "May He support us all the day long till the shades lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done! Then in His mercy may He give us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last!" The family wishes to thank the pastoral care and the hospital staff of the Grace Hospital for their care, as well as the Winnipeg Paramedic and Fire service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 102-310 Broadway Ave, WPG, MB R3C 0S6 or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. "And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."
