GEORGE DeKEYSTER Suddenly, on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital, George DeKeyster, beloved husband of Yvette (nee Leys) passed away at the age of 81 years. George was predeceased by his brother Aime. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Yvette; his daughter Caroline (Myron) Jaworsky; his granddaughters, Alexa and Adriana; his two sisters, Aline and Anna; his sister-in-law Jeannette (Denis) Baril; numerous nieces as well as his faithful companion Mikey. George was a professional baker in his own bakery for many years. Once he retired, he continued baking for family and friends while spending good quality time with his granddaughters. George was very energetic, caring, humourous, strong and compassionate. He loved working outdoors in his yard, woodworking and travelling in the United States with his family as well as in Manitoba with friends. His spirit, humour and goodness will live on in the minds of those who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and Intensive Care Units for their care. Funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georges memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R2L OK6 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
