EVERETT ROBERTSON July 5, 1909 - January 24, 2004 Everett passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 24, 2004 at 70 Poseidon Place, Winnipeg. Mr. Robertson was born and grew up in the Russell District where he attended St. Marys and Angusville schools. He moved to Winnipeg in 1929 to attend the University of Manitoba and was granted the Bachelor in Science of Agriculture degree. Following 14 years of employment with the Research Station, Canada Department of Agriculture, five years with the Line Elevators Farm Service, he returned to Canada Agriculture as District Seed Analyst. He filled this position for 20 years and then six years as Seed coordinator, Plant Products Division. He retired July 4, 1974. Everett was a Charter member of the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists; Past President Manitoba Branch, Agriculture Institute of Canada; Past President of the Grain Exchange Curling Club; Honorary Life Member of the Manitoba Branch, The Canadian Seed Growers Association; the Manitoba institute of Agrologists; and of the Grain Exchange Curling Club. He is survived by his step-son Charles M. Surgeoner, his wife Karen, children, Sandra and Paul; step-daughter Jean Marie Vandal, children Jeffrey and Roland; niece Lynne and husband Jim Burgess and their four children; niece Glenda, her husband Clayton Reid, and their four children; nephew Norris, wife Marilyn Rutherford and their three children. He was predeceased by his father Norman, October 22, 1966, his mother Jean, June 27, 1974 and his sister Bernice August 4, 1981. At the request of the deceased his body has been cremated. In accordance with his wishes no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of their choice.
