MARGARET STEELE (nee ST. MARIE) April 13, 1918 - January 24, 2004 It is with deep sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of Margaret Steele on January 24, 2004 at her residence. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Beverley Rhodes, Janet Tremblay (Bruce), Lorna Nickles (Morley), Elizabeth LaBelle (Bruce) and Dorothy Steele; by her grandchildren who brought her much joy, Theresa Rhodes, Norman Rhodes, David Tremblay, Nancy Tremblay, Catherine Nickles, James Nickles (Angela), Jennifer Nickles, Christian Labelle and Kelly Labelle. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren and her sisters, Lillian Tilden and Mary Lavalee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Robert Norman Steele (1991) parents, Catherine and Louis St. Marie; five brothers and three sisters. Margaret lived in St. Vital all of her life except for the last three and a half years where she resided at Supportive Housing at Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street. We would like to thank all of the staff at supportive housing for their care of Mom. Thank you Mom for devoting your life to our well-being. We will always remember your love for all of us. Thank you for teaching us the importance of integrity and the value of caring unconditionally for family and people from all walks of life. Thank you Mom for your strong faith in the Lord and teaching us to carry it with us in all aspects of life. Your love and compassion for animals was definitely passed on to all of us. Prayers vigil will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Marys Rd. Funeral mass will also be celebrated at Christ the King Parish on Thursday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m., Fr. Renato Pasinato presiding. The interment will take place in St. Vital Cemetery, 236 River Rd.
