EDWARD ANTOINE HUTLET 1934 - 2004 Edward Hutlet passed away peacefully, at St. Boniface General Hospital, on Sunday, January 25, 2004, after a brief, intense battle with cancer. Left to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Marjorie (nee Anderson) his children: Kelvin (Nancy) Hutlet, Sherrill (Detlef) Hindemith and Bryon (Gail) Hutlet; grandchildren: Stephanie, Jennifer and Mitchell Hutlet, Ryan and Justin Hindemith and James and Julia Hutlet; his siblings: Simone Vandamme, Alice (Gerry) Vandamme, Lucien (Rita) Hutlet, Isabel (Romeo) Choquette, Irene (Alec) Grenier and Robert (Gean) Hutlet; his in-laws: Venise Hutlet, Kath and Bob Hodgson, Audrey Anderson, Harold and Jocelyn Anderson, Jim and Betty Anderson, and June and Graham Johnson; plus numerous nephews, nieces and good friends. Edward was predeceased by his parents, Jeanne and Victor Hutlet, brother Marcel Hutlet, niece, Marilyn Hutlet, mother-in-law and father in-law, James and Catherine Anderson, brothers-in-law, Edgar Anderson, Alvin Anderson, Walter Vandamme and sister-in-law Edith Anderson. Edward was born and raised in Bruxelles, MB, August 27, 1934. He lived and worked on the farm until 1956, when he migrated to Winnipeg. He worked at several jobs, until acquiring permanent employment with Canada Packers, where he remained until the plant closed in 1988. Ed developed a love for travel while employed as a CN sleeping car porter, one of his first jobs, and thus travelled across Canada several times. His passion for travel was shared by Marjorie, his wife of 44 years. Over the period of their married life, Ed and Marge shared many adventures, travelling to countries and islands on all of the world continents, with the exception of Antarctica. A highlight of their lives was the year they lived and worked in Australia (1981), where they cultivated life-long friendships, encouraging them to return several times to visit. Ed, never obsessed with material objects, was a gentle, caring, sensitive, loving, unselfish man whose life centred on family and friends. He felt truly blessed to have three loving children and seven grandchildren to share his life. They enriched his life, as he did theirs, by giving of himself. He baby-sat the grandchildren, taught them to ride bicycles, and climb trees. He calmed their fears, encouraged, nurtured and motivated them to do their best, much as he had done decades before for his own children. A man of great faith and strong beliefs, Ed was a role model for his family by living his faith and convictions. Not one for the limelight, Ed was a behind-the-scenes worker, always reliable and willing to help at parish events, Knights of Columbus, St. Bernadette Mens Club, and the communion ministry.
Husband, father and grandfather:
We have shared life, love, good times and laughter together,
It was fitting we should share your pain, suffering and tears.
We are happy we were all there to help with your final journey.
We thank you for the good fight.
You tried so hard to stay with us, but God has called you home.
We will always love you. We will never forget you.
Your wife, children and grandchildren.
