Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAXINE JOYCE TOBACCO 1944 - 2004 Peacefully with her family at her side, Maxine passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 59 years. Maxine was born on March 2, 1944 at Sioux Valley. After getting married in April 20, 1963, Maxine and her husband Joseph resided on Long Plain Reserve for nine years and for the past 31 years in Winnipeg. Maxine enjoyed the outdoors, loved nature and enjoyed her walks. She will be missed by her special cats, Blacky and Spots, whom she adored. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and attending pow wows. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her husband and best friend Joseph; five daughters, Rose (Cecil), Cindy, Jackie (Richard), Nancy (Skender) and Jody (Gary) two sons, Joseph Jr. and Verne; 22 grandchildren, Michael, Memoree, Spering, Rosie, Seace, Krystal, Richard Jr., Kayla, Karie, Kara, Qemal, Bekim, Gage, Jade, Sage, Gair, Brendon, Brandon, Brent, Brady, Brylynn and Larissa; and one great-grandchild Michael Jr.; five sisters, Margaret, Lillian, Leona, Kimberly and Claudette; two brothers, Colin and David; special aunt Lorraine Tacan and special cousins, Catherine and Ron Mousseau and Shirley Doota; father-in-law Archie Tobacco and sister-in-law Margaret Tobacco. There are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Lilian April 14, 2003; father Lawrence September 17, 1998; brother Arthur 1994, twin brothers Donald 1958 and Douglas 1975; mother-in-law Rose Ann Tobacco August 14, 1980; and sister-in-law Florence Mousseau September 1988. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m., with wake to follow at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 1:00 p.m., also at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, with Elder Randy Pashe officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
