NORMA HALLIDAY (1912 - 2004) With our deepest love and saddened hearts, we, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren announce the passing of our very much loved and extraordinary caring Mom. Norma Halliday, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family. Leaving to cherish her memory are her loving children, Jack (Janice) Halliday, Joan (Bob) Lesko, Barbara (Lee) Schwery, Joyce Halliday (Joe Sawchuk), Janice (Douwe) Schaafsma, Bonnie (Jim) Whiting, Beryl (Doug) Silvester, as well as her twelve grandchildren; Holly, Gary, Lori, Lana, Sabrina, Tannis, Warren, Lorne, Oona, Jamie, Shane and Charlene, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Stella Hammerstedt, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Hawkins; her husband Jack (John) Halliday in 1963; two brothers; one sister and two grandsons, Gregory and Jeff. Through the years, Mom was active in many organizations. Mom had enjoyed many years of extensive travelling, playing cards with her many friends, and had a love for reading. Everyone enjoyed Moms quick wit, ready smile and her contagious laughter. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Johns Anglican Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Rob Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. The family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for their loving care and the excellent treatment of our Mom and also a thank you to Dr. Richard VanGend.
