HENRY PERRAS Peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2004 surrounded by his family and friend Monsignor Maurice Comeault, Henry Perras passed away at Grace Hospital at the age of 90 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (nee Rousseau) in 1983. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Yvonne (Ken Wood) his sons, Adrien (Rosemary McVicar) and Marc. Also mourning his loss are five grandchildren, Christopher (Sara), Alice, Elise Wood, Kimberley Perras, and Justin Perras. As well, he will be missed by sisters, Claire Lacroix, Imelda-Louise Labelle; brothers, Eugene (Simone), Robert, and in-laws, Lea and Yvonne Rousseau, Helene and Fred Arnason, Herman Prefontaine and Leo Laplante. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Adrien and Eda and three toddler siblings. He was a very sociable man who immensely enjoyed the company of his friends and family playing horseshoes, pool, cards, Chinese Checkers, dancing at the ANAFVETS Unit No. 283, or just visiting. Henry was born in Winnipeg but lived and farmed the majority of his life in St. Francois Xavier. The family were early settlers in the region and still maintain the original working farmstead, a Manitoba Century Farm. Henry also spent time working throughout western Canada and northwestern Ontario in various mining operations before spending some nineteen years with the Provincial Government until his retirement in 1978. At the time of his death Henry was extremely well cared for by the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. The family wishes to thank all of them for the love and attention they gave their father. The family is also grateful to the medical staff at Grace Hospital for their services in his final days with us. A Memorial Mass will be concelebrated by Reverend Father Roland Tessier and Monsignor Maurice Comeault P.H., V.F. on Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francois Xavier Roman Catholic Church, St. Francois Xavier, MB.
