MACKAY After a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre, Walter James MacKay was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. Walter was born March 7, 1942 in Millesville, NS to Dawn MacKay and Margaret MacLean. After graduating from Queens University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Commerce, he began articling with Arthur Anderson. In 1971, Dad was transferred to the Winnipeg Branch Office. He joined the staff of the Credit Union Stabilization Fund in 1974. Dad had a wonderful sense of humour which won him many friends, and a brilliant mind which won him the respect of many. Walter leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his daughter Laura (Glen) and son Colin; sister Audrey (Frances) DeLorey of Etobikoke, ON; brother Vernon: numerous relatives, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his parents and wife Patricia. We would like to give a very special thank you to Heather, Larry and Bill who gave Dad and us such comfort. We would also like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and the warm thoughtful staff at Riverview. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30 (today) at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Rev. D. Dnistrian, C.SsR. officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
