LAVINA MARION GRINDEY (nee STOREY) September 11, 1915- January 30, 2004 Mother passed away peacefully on January 30, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Mother was predeceased by her husband George in 1980; infant son Trevor; sister Gertrude; and brothers, Earl and Rod. She is survived by her brother Len (Francois) sons, Marston (Rona) and Mark (Shirley) grandchildren, Brian (Gerri), Kevin (Michele), Paul (Dallas), Laurel, Melanie, Deborah and Kelsey; and six great-grandchildren. Mother was born in Harperville, MB and lived in Stonewall and Winnipeg. She moved to Grosse Isle in 1962. Mother enjoyed baking, gardening, participating in community activities and most of all spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mother was a life member of the Independent Order of Foresters and an honorary life member of the Manitoba Womens Institute. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff on the 5th floor at the Grace Hospital for their care and support. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall (433 Main St.). Flowers are gratefully declined, however, should friends so desire, donations can be made in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St. R3L 0K6 or to the charity of your choice.
