CHRISTINE ANN DENHARD August 24, 1956 - January 31, 2004 It is with profound sadness that after a valiant struggle with cancer we announce the peaceful passing of Christine Ann Denhard (Frater) on January 31, 2004 at the Riverview Health Centre. Chris was surrounded by her loving family in her last hours and is survived by her husband of 17 years, Glen; son David Saunders; grandchildren, Drake Fox Saunders and Caleb Saunders. Also by her mother Dorothy Frater; brother James (Monica) Frater; mother and father-in-law Grace and Orville Denhard; sister-in-law Valerie (Rick) Martin; nieces, Michelle Frater, Kim Jacobsen, Mellisa Martin and Jenelle Jacobsen; nephews, Louis Martin and Dakota Jacobsen; special granddaughters, Kiera Fox and Bailey Kliewer. Chriss zest for life, heart warming laugh and smile will also be remembered by many other family, friends, neighbours and co-workers at Manitoba Hydro/Centra Gas where she worked for the past 25 years. Chris was predeceased by her father Robert Frater. Chris was especially proud to be a grandmother and will be remembered for her bed time stories, play time, patience and understanding. From this time on our traditional family thumbs up will hold an extra special meaning, one of love and remembrance for grandma. Memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St., at 2:00 p.m. on February 5, Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. A reception will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Cremation has taken place and a private family internment will be held at a later date. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Riverview Health Centre and the staff of the WRHA Palliative Care Program for the tender care and comfort provided to Chris and her family.
