ORVILLE HAMMOND "BUD" DOHERTY It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Orville Hammond "Bud" Doherty, beloved husband of Muriel, on Friday, January 30, 2004, at his residence in West Curtis Ridge, at the age of 78 years. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, MB, on Thursday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jean Bryden officiating. A private family interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Predeceased by his parents, Hammond and Elsie Doherty; grandchild Keinan Kitching and several brothers-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Muriel; daughters, Hazel (Wayne) Ostpowich, Diane (Sandy) Kitching; sons, Lesley (Dianne), Allan (Beth), Sidney (Vicky) 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers; one sister and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday, February 4 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013 STN B, RM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3 or to the Arthritis Society, 386 Broadway, Suite 105, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
